Privacy Policy
SitterSorted, a product of Berwick Labs LLC. Effective October 29, 2026.
This policy explains what information SitterSorted collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. SitterSorted is operated by Berwick Labs LLC (“we”, “us”). It covers parents who use the app and sitters who receive text messages from it.
The short version
- We collect what we need to send sitting requests and confirmations, and nothing more.
- We never sell mobile phone numbers or text message opt-in information, and we never share them with third parties for their marketing.
- Your home address and house information are never sent by text. Only the sitter who accepts a booking can see them.
- Sitters can stop all texts at any time by replying STOP.
- Parents who choose text alerts can stop them at any time by replying STOP or turning them off in Settings.
Information we collect
From parents
- Account details: your name, email address, and sign-in method (for example, Google).
- Household details: your family name, time zone, and, if you add it, your home address.
- House information you choose to add for sitters, such as wifi details, bedtimes, food notes, allergies, and emergency contacts.
- Booking details: dates, times, notes, and which sitters you asked and how they answered.
- Payment tracking you enter, such as hours worked and amounts paid to a sitter.
- Subscription and billing details, which are handled by our payment processor. We don't store full card numbers.
About sitters
Sitters don't create accounts. A parent adds a sitter by entering their name and mobile number, and optionally an email address, payment handle (such as Venmo), hourly rate, and private notes. We also keep:
- A record of the sitter's text message consent: when the opt-in text was sent, its exact wording, and when they replied YES.
- Opt-out records, so a STOP reply is honored for every family that uses SitterSorted.
- The text messages sent to and received from the sitter's number, and their responses to requests.
About children
SitterSorted is not directed to children under 13, and children don't have accounts. Parents may describe their children in notes (for example, “2 kids” or first names and bedtimes). We use that only to show it to the family and the sitter they book.
Automatically
Like most websites, we collect basic technical information such as browser type, device, pages visited, and error reports, and we use cookies needed to keep you signed in. We use this to run, secure, and improve the service. We count page visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or collect personal information.
How we use information
- To send babysitting, pet sitting, and house sitting requests, confirmations, reminders, and cancellations by text, and notifications to parents.
- To show booking details, including your address and house information, to the sitter who accepts.
- To keep records of consent and opt-outs, as the law and phone carriers require.
- To provide support, prevent abuse, fix problems, and improve SitterSorted.
- To manage your subscription.
We don't use sitters' or families' information for advertising, and we don't sell personal information.
How we share information
We share information only in these ways:
- Within a household and with the sitters it books. Parents in the same household see the same sitters and bookings. A sitter sees the family name and request details, and after accepting, the address and house information for that booking.
- With service providers that help us run SitterSorted, under contracts that limit how they use it: hosting and databases (Vercel, Convex), sign-in (Clerk), text messaging (Twilio), email (Resend), payments (Stripe), error monitoring (Sentry), and visit counts (Vercel Web Analytics). They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
- With an AI assistant you connect. If you connect SitterSorted to an assistant such as Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, or Muse, we send it the information it asks for on your behalf. See Connecting an AI assistant.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of people using SitterSorted.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger or sale, subject to this policy.
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except for aggregators and providers of the text message services that deliver our messages.
Text messages
Sitters receive texts only after replying YES to a one-time opt-in message. Parents who turn on text alerts receive them, from a separate number, only after entering their own number in Settings, agreeing to the consent text, and replying YES to a one-time opt-in message; we keep a record of that consent and the YES. Message frequency varies with how often families send requests. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. See the SMS terms for details.
Connecting an AI assistant
You can connect SitterSorted to an AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, or Muse) by signing in to SitterSorted from the assistant and approving it. Each parent connects separately. When your assistant asks, we send it your sitters' first names and last initials and whether each can be asked, your request dates and statuses, and who booked. We never send it your sitters' full names, phone numbers, or your home address, and it can't add sitters, send opt-ins, or change billing. It can post or cancel a request only after you approve.
We don't receive your conversation with the assistant. We keep a record of each connected assistant (its name, when you connected it, and when it last asked us something) so you can see and disconnect it in Settings, under Connected assistants. How the assistant's company handles your conversation is covered by its own privacy policy. You can disconnect at any time in the assistant's settings or in SitterSorted. If you disconnect an assistant inSitterSorted, we keep a bare record that it's disconnected (which assistant, and when), even after you leave or delete your household, so it can't reconnect to your account without your OK.
How long we keep information
- Account and household information: while your account is open, and deleted after you close it, except as below.
- A record that you disconnected an AI assistant: kept so that assistant stays disconnected unless you allow it again.
- Links sent to sitters stop working 24 hours after a booking ends.
- Consent and opt-out records and message logs: up to five years after the last message to that number, so Berwick Labs LLC can show that consent and opt-outs were honored.
- Billing records: as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Your choices and rights
- Parents can update or delete sitters, household details, and house information in the app at any time.
- The household owner can delete the household in Settings, which deletes its sitters, requests, bookings, payments, and house information. Records listed under “How long we keep information” are kept as described there.
- Sitters can reply STOP to any message to stop all texts from SitterSorted.
- Parents can turn text alerts off in Settings, or reply STOP to the parent alerts number.
- Anyone can ask to access, correct, or delete their information by emailing help@sittersorted.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we'll honor them.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections, access controls, and limiting who can see booking details. No system is perfectly secure, so please contact us if you notice anything unusual.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and let parents know in the app or by email before the changes take effect.
